I added a Video input format and set YouTube as the default video site setting. I tried all of the "Examples in using the Video filter:" suggestions, but I can't get the video to show up on my site. The link is active in all cases and when I click on it the YouTube page with the appropriate video content opens.
When I select "yes" for the default autoplay option, the sound of the video comes through, but no picture.
Any suggestions on how to get the video player to show up on my site?

cyclical commentedI found out later that it is only in FF on my MAC, and ONLY when I'm logged in that the video isn't showing up. When I log out, the video shows.
In Safari and IE/FF on PC everything shows up as it should. I've also noticed this problem when working with the Audio Module. When I'm logged in on FF on my MAC the swf player disappears. When I log out, it shows up fine. Safari on a MAC, and IE/FF on a PC seem to work just fine whether logged in or not.

avolve commentedI have also noted that videos will not show up in FF when logged in with version 5.x.2.4 of this module
Another issue i have noted is this videos will show up if entered as
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0bIgp-VQiE
but not:
http://www.youtube.com/v/u0bIgp-VQiE
the second is the embed URL given by youtube.

mariagwyn commentedHas anybody discovered WHY this is so with FF/Mac? And better, how to fix it?

Howard Owens commentedI'm having the same problem.
If I'm logged in my original account ... there's a white box where the video should be and it links to YouTube.
As an anonymous user, shows up fine.
I created a user role of "member" and if I login as a "member" ... video shows up.
I created a user role of "administrator" and gave that role ALL the power ... login under that role and I get the same white box.
UHGGGG.
Can't figure out which user setting is mucking things up.
I'm FF on Mac.

reed.richards commentedI get the same. Some general instructions for this module should be posted.
What I did was: Installed module. Checked the video filter in the input format settings for Filtered HTML and Full HTML. Tryed to post a blog post with Full HTML set. I just copied the URL to the body(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5Nt0PJvNN4&feature=dir )(Just took a random one I don't watch that...). Where do I go wrong?
Thanks.

blackdog commented@reed.richards - please read the documentation, found here: http://drupal.org/node/402796
@everyone else - I can't reproduce any issue with different users seeing/not seeing the videos. Can anyone send me the source code and exact [video:url] tag used?

flaviovs commentedI'm experiencing the same issue here.
However -- and this is a big however -- the same YouTube links input on CCK fields using the Embedded Media Field module are behaving exacly the same, i.e. no video displayed on FF (but OK in IE).
So what's the problem them? Dunno. I still didn't manage to fix it. I'm not an expert in Flash video and embedded content (that's why I count on the Video Filter developers <G>), but I guess a good starting point is to check if your flash pugin is in good shape (i.e. working). For instance, check the demo website of the Video Filter project to see if videos are being displayed. In my case, they're not being displayed in FF, but everything is OK on IE.
So if we put some neurons to work then IMHO we can conclude with a certain degree of confidence that this may be caused by some Flash plugin bug on FF, or at least we can conclude that it's not related do the Video Filter module.

flaviovs commentedUpdate: anyone using the AdBlock (the old one, not AdBlock Plus) extension?
If so, try disabling it.
Did it and now Video Filter "just works".

blackdog commentedThere you have it, thanks flaviovs!
I'll mark this as fixed, and a note to the docs.
